Cristina Rius i Gibert has a degree in Medicine and Surgery (UB), she specializes in Preventive Medicine and Public Health (UAB-Hospital Vall d'Hebron), she has a master’s in Public Health, and a PhD in Medicine (UAB). She is currently head of the Epidemiology Service of the Barcelona Public Health Agency, working on the surveillance and control of obligatory notifiable diseases and in research into outbreaks of epidemics. Cristina Rius is a researcher of CIBER Epidemiology and Public Health (CIBERESP) and her main area of research is transmissible diseases. In teaching, she is an associate professor of the UAB on the Medicine degree course and a professor on the Master’s degree course in Public Health (UPF-UAB).
