Francesca Bria

She has a PhD in the Economics of Innovation (Imperial College London) and a master’s in Digital Economics (University of London). She is a researcher and consultant on information and technology policies. As senior programme leader at Nesta, the innovation agency in the United Kingdom, she has headed the European EU D-CENT projects, on direct democracy and digital currencies, and DECODE, on data sovereignty. She has also directed the DSI project in her capacity as an EU advisor on social digital innovation policies. She has given classes in different universities in the United Kingdom and Italy, and has advised governments, organizations and movements, both public and private, about technology and innovation policies, and their socioeconomic impact. She is an advisor of the European Commission on the Internet of the future and innovation policy.
