Irma Vilà

A multimedia engineer, curator and researcher in art, science and technology. She is a member of the interdisciplinary research group DARTS (design, art, technology and society). She is a professor of computing studies, multimedia and telecommunications of the Open University of Catalonia, and the editor of the journal Mosaic and executive co-editor of Artnodes, a journal of art, science and technology. With roots in science and engineering, but vitally close to creative practice and research in culture, she orchestrates and gets involved in international and hybrid research projects in science, culture and curatorship. She is the co-founder of the cultural innovation laboratory ZZZINC and has collaborated with Luthiers Drapaires, Telenoika and the CCCB, among other groups or institutions. She has curated several exhibitions and activities at the Espai Laboratori of Arts Santa Mònica in Barcelona and at the ArtFutura festival, of which she has also coordinated the communications.
