Carol Galais

Political scientist and public opinion researcher

She holds a BSc and PhD in Political Science from Pompeu Fabra University (UPF) and is a Ramon y Cajal researcher at the Department of Political Science and Public Law of the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). She has been visiting professor at UPF and visiting researcher at Stanford, as well as postdoctoral researcher at the University of Montreal (UdeM) and the Open University of Catalonia (UOC).

She has research experience in the fields of political participation and civics at the local level, public opinion and culture, psychology and political socialization. Her research is mainly based on public opinion surveys, a field in which she has also made methodological contributions, especially in the treatment of data extracted from online surveys.

She is currently developing different projects on the role of emotions in politics, the consequences of conspiracy theories on different phenomena of public opinion, political polarization and the phenomenon known as political correctness.
