Ismael Blanco

Professor of political science and public policy researcher

PhD in Political Science by the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). Associate professor in the Department of Political Science and Public Law at the UAB, with Advanced Research Accreditation (catedrático) from the AQU. As a Ramón y Cajal researcher he has been linked to the Department of Political and Social Sciences of the Pompeu Fabra University (UPF). He has been a Beatriu de Pinós researcher at the Department of Public Policy of the University of Monforte del Cid and a visiting researcher at the Federal University of Minas Gerais and the João Pinheiro Foundation in Brazil.

He is a member of the SGR Urban Governance, Commons, Internet and Social Innovation of the IGOP. His current research focuses on the dynamics of inequality and socio-spatial segregation in cities and emerging forms of participation and urban governance in the context of the (post) crisis. She is a member of the Collaborative Governance Under Austerity: An Eight-Case Comparison research consortium, funded by the UK Economic and Social Research Council and led by Professor Jonathan Davies.
