PhD in Medicine, professor and specialist in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). He was Head of the Gynecology Service of the Hospital de Sant Pau and director of the Reproduction Program of Sant Pau - Clínica Puigvert. He was president of the European Society of Gynecology and president of the Advisory Commission of HAART of Catalonia.

He has promoted the application of molecular biology techniques for pre-implantational diagnosis of hereditary diseases, fertility preservation in oncology patients and in the development of the assisted reproduction program for women alone or with a female partner.
