Mabel Gracia Arnaiz

Social anthropologist specialized in food, gender and health

Professor of Social Anthropology at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV), member of the Medical Anthropology Research Center (MARC) and coordinator of the Consolidated Research Group in Social Anthropology. She has coordinated numerous national and international research projects funded by the National R&D Plan, the European Commission and the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID).

She has been a visiting researcher at CETIA (Paris), CIESAS (Mexico City), University of Toulouse Jean Jaurès, the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ), the University of Durham, the University of Sao Paulo and SOAS Food Centre (University of London).

Her books include Alimentación y Cultura, No Comerás, Somos lo que comemos, Alimentaçao, Sociedade e Cultura, Mujeres (in)visibles and Comemos lo que somos.
