Martí Ruiz Carulla

Multi-instrumentalist musician and researcher

BSc, Master and PhD in Fine Arts. Co-founder of the Sound Art Laboratory and coordinator of the Sound Sculpture Workshop Baschet UB since 2010. He teaches in the Master of Sound Art at the University of Barcelona (UB) and the Sound Art Workshop at the Open University of Catalonia (UOC). 

He leads different interdisciplinary research lines around acoustics applied to the creation of participatory and inclusive sound objects and activities. The dissemination of Baschet's work and thought, as well as the most recent developments and innovations, has led him to exhibit, perform and give classes, workshops and lectures at the Kyoto Art Center, Kyoto University of Art, the Center for New Music in San Francisco, the Metabolic Studio in Los Angeles, the MUAC of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and the Garage Contemporary Art Museum in Moscow, among others. Since the mid-nineties he has also dedicated himself to different musical disciplines, from experimental electroacoustic to Indonesian gamelan, in projects such as Nen i Cavall or Pan-Gamelan.
