3D printers for the use of catalysts

Workshop-demonstration by Ilaria Lucentini and Isabel Serrano, Nanoengineering of Materials Applied to Energy Group (NEMEN-UPC).

Do you know what a catalyst is, what it is used for and why it is important? Find out in this demonstration and discover how, using 3D printers, micro-reactors of specific sizes and shapes can be designed and prepared to serve as a support for different catalysts.

Hydrogen production with sunlight

Workshop-demonstration by Xènia García de Andrés and Xavier Vendrell, Nanoengineering of Materials Applied to Energy Group (NEMEN-UPC).

In the last few years, new technologies have emerged to produce hydrogen, a renewable energy source. Discover in this activity why today we need to produce hydrogen in a clean and efficient way and how this gas can be obtained from sunlight using microreactors made with 3D printing.

Energy in your hands

Workshop by Federico Baiutti, Catalonia Institute for Energy Research (IREC).

In the city of the future, the Internet of Things (IoT) will play a fundamental role. Take part in a series of interactive games and experiments that will allow you to familiarise yourself with this IoT concept, discover the technologies and micro-devices on which it is based and learn about some of its applications in the field of energy.
