The metaphysics of quantum mechanics: from ghostly action at a distance to higher dimensions and multiple worlds

Conference that addresses the great philosophical debates surrounding the interpretation of quantum mechanics, a theory that, a hundred years after its origin, continues to question our understanding of reality. Many scientists interpret that objects can be influenced instantaneously at great distances, a phenomenon that Einstein described as “spooky action at a distance” and that seems to contradict relativity. Philosopher Alyssa Ney will explore several proposals that seek to reconcile these principles, such as higher-dimensional models or the hypothesis of parallel universes, to reflect on the foundations of one of the most fascinating theories in modern science.
