Student Workshop: Science Fiction Audio Series
- Format
- Workshop
Audio has always been a powerful medium for imagination. From radio and radio dramas, the human voice has held the power to create entire worlds in the listener’s mind. Science fiction, in particular, has found a perfect ally in this format — as famously demonstrated by Orson Welles’ The War of the Worlds. With the rise of mobile technology, the format has made a strong comeback, allowing us to explore stories anytime and anywhere.
In this workshop for students, writer and screenwriter Julio Rojas, author of the award-winning audio series Caso 63 (Rose d’Or Award for Best Podcast 2024 and Ondas Award 2022), will explore the narrative keys of audio fiction in the specific context of science fiction — a format ideally suited for testing new ideas and building narrative universes without the limitations of visual production.
