There are not many female figures who have excelled in science. For a number of well-known and regrettable reasons, which fortunately are now changing. But in every era there have been women who have made remarkable scientific discoveries. In this lecture we will present some women (beyond Marie Curie, who is always mentioned when naming a woman scientist) who, through their work, nevertheless contributed to the advancement of science.
