Professor in the Department of Physics at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia. She received her bachelor degree (1989) and the M.Sc. degree (1991) in Physics from the University of the Republic, Uruguay, and her Ph.D. in Physics (1999) from Bryn Mawr College, USA. Her research interests include complex systems and data analysis. In the last 30 years, she has published more than 180 articles and supervised 12 PhD theses. She is a member of the catalan network of complexity science, complexitat.cat. She has received three ICREA Academy Awards from the Catalan Institution for Research and Advanced Studies (2010, 2016 and 2021).
