Jaione Camborda
Filmmaker and visual artist whose work explores the relationship between matter, body, and memory to create sensory narratives rooted in the land. Trained at the FAMU Film School in Prague and the HFF in Munich, she began her career with experimental pieces that earned awards at international festivals. Her first feature film, Arima (2019), stands out for its immersive atmosphere and its exploration of mystery and identity. With O Corno (2023), she delves into the feminine and the elemental through the story of a midwife embarking on a journey of escape and resistance. Premiered at the Toronto Film Festival, the film made her the first Spanish woman director to win the Golden Shell at San Sebastián. Her works have been screened in more than sixty countries
