Javier Argüello

Javier Argüello is an Argentine writer, born in Chile and based in Barcelona. His work, which includes novels, short stories, and essays, has been translated into several languages and recognized with various awards. As a researcher, he takes part in multidisciplinary forums where he explores the intersections between science and the humanities—particularly between physics and literature—and how the stories we tell shape reality. He is the author of Seven Impossible Stories (Lumen, 2002), The Sea of All the Dead (Lumen, 2008), The Music of the World (Galaxia Gutenberg, 2011), On Majorana (Random House, 2015), Being Roig (Random House, 2020), Four Quantum Tales (Random House, 2024), The Limits of Science (Debate, 2024), and The Day We Invented Reality (Debate, 2025). He combines literary creation with his work as a travel journalist, teaching in courses and lectures on popular science, storytelling, and the history of ideas, and is a regular contributor to El País.
