Rodolfo Germán Tarrach Siegel
Professor of Theoretical Physics at the University of Barcelona, where he earned his PhD after a postdoctoral research period at CERN in Geneva. Author of more than one hundred publications in high-energy theoretical physics, quantum field theory, quantum mechanics, and information theory, he has written five books, supervised twelve PhD theses, and delivered hundreds of lectures on science and related topics. He has served as Vice-Rector of the University of Barcelona, President of the CSIC, and Rector of the University of Luxembourg, as well as President of the European University Association in Brussels. He holds honorary doctorates from the Universities of St. Petersburg and Liège and has received awards and distinctions from several countries. He is a member of committees of the European Union, the Board of Trustees of the Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology, and various international think tanks and advisory councils.
