The Institut d'Estudis Catalans is an academic institution made up of five sections and twenty-eight societies whose aim is to promote scientific research in all areas of Catalan culture. The Institute acts as an agent for the dissemination of science and technology, and in its spaces at the Casa de Convalescència in Barcelona it hosts cultural dissemination events aimed at both the general and specialised public. The Biennial events that will take place are an example of this.
