Reiko Yamada
Composer and sound artist from Hiroshima, Japan. Her work ranges from concert music to immersive installations and interdisciplinary collaborations, with a particular focus on the aesthetic concept of imperfection. She has been awarded prestigious fellowships, including from the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study at Harvard University and the European Commission, and her creations have been presented at international venues such as The Met Breuer (New York) and Sónar Festival (Barcelona). She is currently a postdoctoral researcher at ICFO – The Institute of Photonic Sciences and a composition professor at ESMUC – The Higher School of Music of Catalonia, where she explores the intersection between physics and sound.
