Jara Juana Bermejo Vega

PhD in Quantum Computing from the Technical University of Munich and Ramón y Cajal researcher at the University of Granada, where she leads the 2023 Research Consolidation Grant and the European project HORIZON RIA FOQACIA on advanced quantum computing. She was a Marie Curie–Athenea3i Fellow (2019–2022) and a postdoctoral researcher at the Free University of Berlin after completing her doctorate at the Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics. She holds degrees in Physics and Computer Engineering from the University of Salamanca and combines scientific research with outreach and activism for equality, diversity, and well-being in science. She is co-founder of the inclusive conference Q-turn and of the Equal Opportunities Group of the Max Planck PhDnet, and collaborates with numerous social, cultural, and educational organizations. In parallel, she is a dancer, performer, and dance teacher, specializing in pole dance, urban dances, and contemporary jota, through which she explores the connections between body, knowledge, and community.
